OnePlus 6T leak suggests upgraded iPhone X rival is in the pipeline

Chinese phone brand OnePlus is already hard at work on its second smartphone of 2018 according to a new leak that suggests it will rival the likes of Apple and Samsung.

An obscure certification for the ‘OnePlus 6T’ was spotted in a listing by the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) in Russia. The obscure reference listed the model number as A6013 and was spotted by Phone Corridor.

This in itself tells us almost nothing other than the phone is likely to exist. Even so, we’d recommend taking this with a sizable pinch of salt.

For those not yet aware of OnePlus, the Chinese company tends to sell very nicely specced Android smartphones at extremely reasonable prices.

The company has already released the OnePlus 6 so far this year but has a tendency to launch a second ‘T’ model in around October. Coincidentally, this is just around the time that Apple’s latest iPhones usually go on sale.

Although there’s no telling what exactly OnePlus has in store for it’s next phone, the chances are that it’ll be very similar to the current OnePlus 6 but have slightly boosted specs – perhaps a newer processor or more storage space.

Given the OnePlus 6 packs a whopping 8GB of RAM and a possible 256GB of storage space, we’re not quite sure where the company can go from there.

But it seems we won’t have too long to wait. According to individuals ‘familiar with the launch plans’ who spoke to gadget site Cnet, we may see the phone arrive in October with a tentative price tag of around $550. That’s around £230 but, more likely, we’ll see it arrive at around £550 if it does actually exist.

Either way, expect more and more leaks to arrive about this new phone as we get closer to it being announced. OnePlus isn’t the best at keeping secrets, it even ‘leaked’ the existence of the OnePlus 6 itself.

So we’ll probably hear more about the OnePlus 6T in the weeks to come.
